Dr. Paul S. Cederna is the Robert Oneal Professor of Plastic Surgery, Chief of the Section of Plastic Surgery, and Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan who specializes in reconstruction of complex wounds. Academically, Dr. Cederna has a very active research enterprise directing the Neuromuscular Research Laboratory at the University of Michigan. Dr. Cederna has received over $45,000,000 in direct research funding, authored over 400 scientific manuscripts, published 31 book chapters, and presented his work over 900 times at national and international meetings. He has received over 75 national research awards either as author or mentor of the reseach work. Dr. Cederna has been the Chairman of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Chairman of the Plastic Surgery Research Council, President of the American Society for Peripheral Nerve, and President for the Plastic Surgery Foundation. He is currently the Vice-Chairman of the ACGME Plastic Surgery RRC and Vice-President of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons.
